Yes is it not a beaut, but he still won't say Who Painted it? What is it? Top Secret Information or something? LOL...do we need to sign a non-disclosure clause...Ha, ha, ha... Ok here it is. I checked with the guy to see if he was ok with me posting up his info so here is a bit of info on what he does and is doing on the " Terrorplane"
He loves to do the older stuff and currently has a 1931 Chevrolet Coach that I posted on Kijiji for him and it is a testament to his capabilities!
www.kijiji.ca/v-classic-cars/ottawa/1931-chevrolet-coach-complete-body-off-restoration/1139434828?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true .
He completely disassembled the car, removed all the wood and then made a complete replacement set of wood to go back into the car. Take a look at the assembled wood frame ( see picture.)...he is truly a craftsman with many talents, including metal fabrication, welding, wood working, body and paint, and upholstery. He did it all on his 31 Chevrolet.
My agreement with him was to completely disassemble the Terrorplane and fabricate some access plates in the trunk area that needed to be finished, and fill the holes in the firewall before blocking and painting. After disassembly, he went a step beyond and took the coil-overs out to install some washers that keep the bushings in place ( something I forgot to do ) when we built the car. As you know, the car was fairly straight before going to his shop but he found several areas where the blocking revealed an opportunity to make it better. All this to say that he takes pride in his work and told me that my car will not leave his shop until he is 100% satisfied as he wants to use my car as an example of his work and capabilities.
The Coupe has now been there for 9 weeks and he has just finished shooting the colour on all the pieces and is now in the process of colour sanding and buffing before starting reassembly. As of March 3, he said I will have a completely assembled car back to me by April 1st. Keeping to the schedule is important as I have Pierre booked to take it in to do the interior in April.
So who is the painter? The painter is Dan Beaubien and his shop is in Middleville. He does about 4 cars a year and does not want to become a production shop as he likes to take his time and do them right! You can reach him at 613 259 9915. However, he might not be available for a while as he has a few folks scheduled and he has to finish his 1939 Lasalle Opera Coupe this year!
There you go.......no non-disclosures required!

Thanks Doug, I was just curious who did the paint as it always good to know a good painter and body repair person. That's awesome he did your whole car, sounds like a very talented guy. I am looking to get my car "sanded and buffed" and few little touch up's done.

Great job by Dan who did the whole job including disassembly, prep, paint and reassembly!
Lots of stuff to do in the next two weeks before going for the interior.

Wow! Nice work. I was looking through your old pictures from when you first brought it home up to now. This is a story that belongs in a magazine.

Yes it has been a long time in the making and it is not finished yet! In two weeks it will be at the upholstery shop for a tan interior. Can't wait to get it all done.
